GENERAL INFORMATION

The NCYO Woodwind Ensemble is our premier woodwind program and is an exclusive opportunity connecting elite instruction with more experienced woodwind youth musicians in the local area. The ensemble is directed by Sam Sparrow, a member of the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra and instructor at Queens University. Placement in the ensemble will be evaluated and determined by an audition.

  • Rehearsal: 7:15-8:45pm

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Three (3) major or minor scales of applicant’s choice
  • Two (2) contrasting pieces of applicant’s choice showing range and ability

CLASS DETAILS & PROGRAM FEES

Rehearsals for the NCYO Woodwind Ensemble are held on Monday nights at Bailey Middle School in Cornelius from 7:15-8:45pm. Please reference the calendar on our website for more information. Students should plan to arrive 10 minutes early to all rehearsals to allow time for instrument setup and warmups.

  • After scholarships, annual tuition for most students is $450 and includes participation in all NCYO programs, pending placement
  • 10% discount to families with multiple students
