October 12, 2025 [Huntersville, North Carolina] The North Carolina Youth Orchestra is excited to announce a new event series, Backstage with NCYO, designed to give students, families, and the community valuable insight into the many opportunities available through music. Each session will feature engaging conversations, expert advice, and opportunities for students to ask questions directly. The inaugural season of Backstage with NCYO will include:
• October 12 – College Admissions & Music- A discussion panel exploring the college admissions process for music majors, opportunities for non-majors to participate in college music departments, and more, followed by an audience Q&A.
• November 22 – Summer Festival Fair- Students and families will discover summer festivals for 2026, exploring programs that provide intensive training, performance experiences, and artistic growth opportunities.
• January 17 – Audition & Preparation Workshop- An information session focused on audition strategies and preparation techniques to help students feel confident and prepared for upcoming auditions.
Additional dates and topics will be announced soon. All Backstage with NCYO events are ticketed, but free and open to the public — welcoming students and families from across the region, including other youth orchestras and music education institutions.
