February 27, 2026 [Cornelius, North Carolina] – Only two months into 2026, and the Lake Norman Musical Pathways Initiative has already reached a number of area students. Despite weather delays due to ice and snow storms which caused school closures that required some visits to be rescheduled, LKN MPI artistic staff have visited four area schools, Davidson Elementary, East Mooresville Intermediate, Lincoln Charter, and Catawba Springs Elementary.
During an MPI visit students learn about orchestral instruments through demonstrations, audience participation, and questions and answers during a presentation conducted MPI staff, comprised of some of the area’s most qualified musicians in the Lake Norman area. All students are invited to freely attend an Instrument Discovery Day, where they can try all of the instruments under those same professionals.
