February 27, 2026 [Cornelius, North Carolina] – Registration is open for the 2026-2027 NCYO season for both performing ensembles and educational classes. Students wishing to participate in a performing ensemble are required to audition in person on either April 18, 2026 or May 16, 2026. Educational classes, which are challenge and prelude classes, do not require auditions.
What should students expect on audition days? To help ensure a smooth audition experience, they should arrive 30 minutes prior to their audition slot in order to tune, warm up, and calm any audition day jitters. Then, students will then audition in front of a panel of adjuticators. Each student will perform a series of scales, a short solo of their choice, selected excerpts, and sightreading.
