December 5, 2025 [Huntersville, North Carolina] – The holiday season is a busy time for orchestras, and NCYO is no exception. Audiences had several opportunities to enjoy performances from NCYO throughout the first weekend of December. “We’re super excited to be a part of so many events this time of year. It’s a great opportunity to reach a larger audience and spread joy to many throughout our community,” NCYO Director Eric Boruff said about the packed schedule.
On Thursday, December 4, violinists Annabelle Flowers and Kate Boruff, violist Emma Heu, and cellist Tristan Thompson formed a quartet and performed at the Davidson United Methodist Church Chapel for the opening night of Christmas in Davidson. Violinist Rheanna Akbar and Kate Boruff, violist Dave Sarley, and cellist Tristan Thompson kept the quartet music and community spirit going at WDAV’s holiday open house on Friday, December 5.
The quartet wasn’t the only NCYO ensemble to make an appearance at Christmas in Davidson. Orchestra and Philharmonic performed classics such as Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Sleigh Ride, It’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year, and more as festival goers warmed up inside Davidson United Methodist Church’s Sanctuary.
